Datenschutzerklärung

Stand: Oktober 2026

1. Verantwortliche Stelle

Verantwortlich im Sinne der DSGVO ist:

BodyFast GmbH
Planegger Str. 23B
82166 Gräfelfing
Deutschland

E-Mail: info@chatgod.love
Registergericht: Amtsgericht München, HRB 238997
Vertreten durch: Patrick Hammer, Matthias Schmeißer

2.7 Attribution & Marketing-Analyse (AppsFlyer, Meta)

3. Weitergabe an Dritte / Auftragsverarbeiter

Google (Gemini API — KI-Verarbeitung)

Meta Platforms (Anzeigen-Messung)

Beidem kannst du jederzeit in den Einstellungen widersprechen (Opt-out).
  • Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. a DSGVO – Einwilligung: Auch die Attribution/Marketing-Analyse via AppsFlyer und Meta inklusive Werbe-Identifier (Abschnitt 2.7) beruht auf deiner Einwilligung.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

Protecting your personal data matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains which data we collect when you use the ChatGod app and the chatgod.pro website, how we use it, and what rights you have. The German version is the legally binding one.

1. Data Controller

The controller under the GDPR is:

BodyFast GmbH
Planegger Str. 23B
82166 Gräfelfing
Germany

E-mail: info@chatgod.love
Commercial register: Amtsgericht München, HRB 238997
Represented by: Patrick Hammer, Matthias Schmeißer

2. What Data We Process

2.1 Data you provide (onboarding)

When you set up the app we ask for — mostly optionally:

  • First name
  • Age group
  • Gender (optional)
  • Spiritual interests and goals
  • Preferred communication style (tone, length, language)

This information is used solely to tailor the AI responses to you. It is stored primarily locally on your device. If you use ChatGod with an account, it may additionally be stored with our hosting provider for cross-device use (app and web) — see Section 3.

2.2 Chat messages (AI processing)

Messages you write or dictate to "Lumi" in the app are transmitted through our server to an AI service for processing: to Google's Gemini API (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC) or to Anthropic PBC's Claude API (USA) — which of the two answers depends on the model currently in use. The service then generates the reply.

Transmitted along as context are your onboarding details (Section 2.1), your own values and your self-ratings of the qualities in the Self-Compass, today’s mood and sleep and your weekly goal, a short summary of earlier conversations (Section 2.6), your latest journal notes as Lumi’s memory, and any ritual entries you hand to the chat yourself. If you start the Sunday review in the journal, your journal entries of the current week are additionally transmitted for it — only when you tap, never automatically. The short notes Lumi sends you in the app during the day are created on your device; only when you answer one do Lumi’s sentence and your answer go to the AI service, like a chat message. Not transmitted are your email address, your payment details and the feelings you name in the feelings monitor.

This transmission only happens with your explicit consent: before your first message the app shows a disclosure containing exactly this information and asks for your permission. Without consent the chat stays off — the rest of the app keeps working. You can withdraw your consent at any time under Settings → App & Data → Privacy → AI processing; after that, no content is sent to the AI service any more.

Your chat history is stored on your device; if you use an account, it is additionally stored with our hosting provider for cross-device use (Section 3). It is not shared with third parties except as described in Section 3. If you actively rate a response with 👍 or 👎, Section 2.3 also applies.

2.3 Response feedback (voluntary)

Below each response you'll find a 👍 and a 👎 icon. Only if you actively tap it do we transmit to our server: your rating (👍/👎), the text of the rated response, your preceding message, your style settings (tone, length, language), an AI-profile version identifier, and a timestamp.

This data is stored anonymously — without your name, without your onboarding details, and without any identifier that identifies you. We use it solely to improve response quality for all users. You can use the app fully without ever rating a response.

2.4 Purchase and subscription data

Subscriptions and purchases are handled via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store (on mobile) or via our payment processor Stripe (on the web). Payment processing, including payment details, takes place exclusively with these providers — we do not store full payment or credit-card data. To manage your subscription status on mobile we use RevenueCat, which processes an anonymous, cross-device identifier.

2.5 Usage statistics (analytics)

To improve the app we collect anonymous usage statistics: which features are used (e.g. "lesson completed", "card flipped"), screens visited, app version, device type, and the language and country setting of the device. These events never contain any content — no chat messages, no journal entries, no mood or belief data. They are linked to a random device identifier, not to your name or your email address.

You can switch the usage statistics off at any time under Settings → App & Data → Privacy.

A few events (completed onboarding, start of a trial or subscription, your first message to Lumi) are additionally sent to MoEngage (Section 3) — together with your first name, your language, the app version and your subscription status, linked to the same random identifier. This lets us send you relevant notes about ChatGod. Again, no content is included, and the same setting switches it off.

For app stability we also collect crash and error reports (technical error message, app version, device type — likewise without any content).

Beyond that we collect no location data. For measuring marketing campaigns an advertising or device identifier may be processed — only with your consent (see Section 2.7).

2.6 Conversation memory

So that Lumi can pick up on earlier conversations, a finished conversation is distilled into a short summary (recurring themes, your own quotes, realizations and a short check-in question Lumi uses the next day to pick up on the conversation in the app). This happens when the conversation ends or the next time you open the app, without you sending anything for it. The check-in question appears only in the app, never in a notification. For this, the transcript is transmitted once to the same AI service as in Section 2.2 — therefore likewise only with your consent. The summary itself is stored on your device and can be viewed, exported and deleted under Settings → "What ChatGod knows about you". If you withdraw your consent to the AI processing, no further summaries are created.

2.7 Attribution & marketing analytics (AppsFlyer, Meta)

To understand which campaign or ad brought users to ChatGod, we use the attribution service AppsFlyer. This may involve processing installation and event data as well as a device or advertising identifier (the IDFA on iOS, the Advertising ID on Android). This data contains no content — no chat messages, no journal entries, no mood or belief data.

The processing only happens with your consent. On iOS we ask for permission beforehand via Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT); if you decline, no advertising identifier is used. You can withdraw your consent at any time in your device or app settings.

For ads on Facebook and Instagram we additionally use the Meta SDK (Section 3). It processes installation and event data (e.g. app install, completed onboarding, purchase) and — only after ATT consent — the advertising identifier, so we can measure the performance of our Meta ads. This data likewise contains no content, and the same applies: processing only with your consent, and it can be switched off via the usage-statistics setting.

2.8 Newsletter & email

If you voluntarily provide your email address during onboarding, we transmit it, together with the time of your consent, your language, the platform and the app version, to our server and to MoEngage, our email delivery provider (section 3). The purpose is to send you news and impulses around ChatGod. You give your consent by entering the address; the notice about your right to object is shown right below the field. Storage is with our hosting provider and with MoEngage (section 3), together with a record of which notice text was shown to you. You can withdraw your consent at any time: via the unsubscribe link in every email or with a message to info@chatgod.love — we then delete your address. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Providing it is optional; ChatGod works fully without an email address.

2.9 Free text in the survey (voluntary)

At the end of the in-app survey you can voluntarily write down what is missing for you in ChatGod. Only if you tick the box “The team may read my text” and finish the survey do we transmit the text to our server and store it there together with your language and the time — without name, user identifier or IP address. The purpose is to improve ChatGod; we read the texts for that. Please do not write anything personal such as names or health details. The text is deleted automatically after 90 days. It is not stored if you do not tick the box, and it is never sent to our measurement (analytics). Your answers to the other survey questions (numbers and choices) are measured without any text and contain nothing that identifies you. Consent is voluntary (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); it applies for as long as the text is stored. Because the entry carries no identifier, we cannot later attribute it to you and therefore cannot delete it individually — after 90 days it is gone anyway. It is stored with our hosting provider (section 3).

3. Sharing with Third Parties / Processors

Google (Gemini API — AI processing)

To provide the AI features, your chat messages and your onboarding details (as part of the system prompt) are transmitted to Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, or Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google processes them as a processor solely to generate the reply; transfers to the USA are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) under Art. 46 GDPR. policies.google.com/privacy

Anthropic PBC (AI processing)

Alternatively — depending on the model in use — the same data is transmitted to Anthropic PBC, 548 Market St, PMB 90375, San Francisco, CA 94104, USA. Anthropic processes this data on the basis of Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) under Art. 46 GDPR. anthropic.com/legal/privacy

Cloudflare, Inc. (hosting, feedback & survey store)

Our website, server functions, the anonymous response feedback (Section 2.3) and the voluntary survey text (Section 2.9) are operated / stored with Cloudflare, Inc. (USA) on the basis of SCCs under Art. 46 GDPR. cloudflare.com/privacypolicy

Apple, Google, Stripe & RevenueCat (payments)

Purchases and subscriptions are processed via Apple (App Store), Google (Play Store) or Stripe (web); subscription status is managed with RevenueCat, Inc. (USA). The privacy terms of the respective provider additionally apply.

PostHog (usage statistics)

The anonymous usage statistics (Section 2.5) are processed with PostHog and stored exclusively on servers in the EU (Frankfurt) (PostHog EU Cloud). No content and no advertising identifiers are transmitted; the IP address is not used for geolocation. Can be switched off in Settings. posthog.com/privacy

Sentry (crash and error reports)

We process crash and error reports (Section 2.5) with Functional Software, Inc. (Sentry), USA. Only technical details are transmitted (error message, app version, device type) — never chat or journal content. The transfer is based on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) under Art. 46 GDPR. sentry.io/privacy

MoEngage (email & user communication)

For email delivery (Section 2.8) and notes about the app (Section 2.5) we use MoEngage, Inc., 315 Montgomery Street, 10th Floor, San Francisco, CA 94104, USA, as a processor. The data is stored in data centres in the EU. Where MoEngage or its sub-processors access it from countries outside the EU, this happens on the basis of Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) pursuant to Art. 46 GDPR. Transmitted are a random user identifier, first name, language, platform, app version, subscription status, a few usage events and technical device data — your email address only if you provided it during onboarding. Never transmitted are chat or journal content, mood, sleep, belief or health details. Can be switched off via the usage statistics in Settings. moengage.com/privacy-policy

AppsFlyer (attribution & marketing analytics)

To measure marketing campaigns (Section 2.7) we use AppsFlyer Ltd., 14 Maskit St., Herzliya 4614001, Israel. An EU Commission adequacy decision is in place for Israel (Art. 45 GDPR); where data is processed in other regions, this happens on the basis of Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) under Art. 46 GDPR. No content is transmitted. appsflyer.com/legal

Meta Platforms (ad measurement)

To measure the performance of our ads on Facebook and Instagram (Section 2.7) we use the SDK of Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, Ireland. Where data is transferred to the USA (Meta Platforms, Inc.), this happens on the basis of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) under Art. 46 GDPR. No content is transmitted. facebook.com/privacy/policy

4. Legal Bases

We process your data on the following bases:

  • Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR – consent: your messages are only transmitted to the AI service (Sections 2.2 and 2.6) after you have explicitly agreed to the disclosure in the app; you can withdraw consent at any time in Settings. Your onboarding details are likewise voluntary, as is the active tapping of 👍/👎 (Section 2.3).
  • Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR – performance of a contract: providing the app's features and handling your subscription (Section 2.4).
  • Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR – legitimate interest: anonymous usage statistics and crash reports (Section 2.5) serve to improve and stabilise the app, and the few events sent to MoEngage (Section 2.5) serve relevant notes about the app. You can object to both at any time in Settings (opt-out).
  • Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR – consent: the attribution/marketing analytics via AppsFlyer and Meta, including the advertising identifier (Section 2.7), likewise rests on your consent.

5. Storage and Deletion

Your data (profile, chat history, progress) is stored on your device; if you use ChatGod with an account, additionally with our hosting provider (Section 3). You can delete local data at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing its storage; to delete account-bound data, contact info@chatgod.love.

The anonymous response feedback (Section 2.3) is retained only as long as needed to improve response quality (at most 24 months) and is then deleted. Because it is anonymous, it cannot be attributed to an individual after transmission.

6. Your Rights (Art. 15–21 GDPR)

You have the right to:

  • Access the data processed about you
  • Rectification of inaccurate data
  • Erasure of your data
  • Restriction of processing
  • Data portability
  • Objection to processing

You can delete local data directly by uninstalling the app / clearing its storage. For all other requests, contact info@chatgod.love.

7. Right to Complain

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. For BodyFast GmbH (based in Bavaria) this is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA): lda.bayern.de

8. Minors

ChatGod is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors under 16 without the consent of a parent or guardian.

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app or the legal situation changes. The current version is always available at chatgod.pro/privacy and in the app.
